Those who are truly familiar with Karel Gott it’s not surprising too much that he devoted his leisure time even to painting pictures – his big hobby, which formerly has been supposed to become his career. When he tried to apply to the Academy in 1954, because he has always been longing for painting, he did not succeed. However, painting has become his big hobby even earlier than singing and he presented his paintings in exhibitions in the most renowned galleries very successfully. In 2006, the publishing house Fany has released a Czech-German publication called Obrazy – Bilder (Paintings), which approximates his painting art in a very thorough way.
